Ecological Alternatives to Global Agribusiness in Africa & Beyond.

Presented by Global Justice Now (formerly the World Development Movement) and Unicorn Grocery.

Governments like the UK’s promote large-scale industrial agriculture as the only way to feed the world. Yet United Nations research in Africa has demonstrated that small, sustainable farming systems not only better increase yields but can also improve biodiversity, health & even climate resilliance.

A recent audit of UK goverment aid has revealed that working with the private sector to combat poverty and hunger is not working and in some cases is little more than free PR for the companies involved. So why are millions in UK aid money being used to help big agribusiness gain access to Africa´s land, seeds and markets?

Global Justice Now discuss the struggle against corporate control & the movement to build an agroecological alternative, & Unicorn presents practical examples we are funding in Africa & beyond.

Get informed, find out how to take action and enjoy some hot soup and fresh bread. Doors open at 7pm for soup with a prompt start at 7.15.
